ÚLTIMAS CARTAS

Últimas Cartas invites Tamara Cubas's relatives to transcribe onto a blackboard the last letters they exchanged during the years of separation forced by the Uruguayan dictatorship. The act of writing again what has already been written —shifting scale, medium, time— transforms the intimacy of those words into a bodily, public gesture. What was intimate and small becomes large, visible, present.
